Bunny Wailer and Bob Marley were brought up in the same house as stepbrothers. Bunny's father Thaddeus "Toddy" Livingston lived with Bob Marley's mother Cedella Booker and had a daughter with her named Pearl Livingston. He was less inclined to sing lead vocals than Marley and Tosh in the initial years, but when Bob Marley left Jamaica in 1966 for Delaware, to be replaced by Constantine "Vision" Walker, he began to record and sing lead on some of his own works. As the Wailers moved from producer to producer in the late 1960s he continued to be under used as a writer and lead vocalist. Bunny consequently left the Wailers to follow a solo career. Bunny Wailer is a legend in reggae music The highly acclaimed album Liberation is considered by many to be his best album, and I wholeheartedly agree, I consider this to be one of the most important albums from the roots genre ever made. All tracks were written by Bunny Wailer and each sends a serious political or spiritual message Rise and shine which speaks of slavery, sends shivers down my spine (in a good way) even to this day. While the lively track Didn't You Know can lift your mood instantly. Every track on this album has its own merits and sends a powerful message, a must for every reggae fans collection.
