Israel Vibration

Israel Vibration is a reggae trio, from Kingston, Jamaica. Lascelle "Wiss" Bulgin, Albert "Apple Gabriel" Craig, and Cecil "Skeleton" Spence who all contracted polio as children. They trio first met at a rehabilitation centre. After parting company, each of them became Rastafarians; they got back together in Kingston around 1969 and formed a vocal group. The money for their first album came from a grant from the Twelve Tribes of Israel branch of Rastafari when Hugh Booth, a member of the Twelve Tribes, heard them singing in a wood outside Kingston. After releasing a song called Why Worry in 1977 Israel Vibration made three albums; The Same Song, Unconquered People, and Why You So Craven before temporarily disbanding in 1981. In 1997, Apple Gabriel left the group to follow a solo career. Skelly and Wiss continue to record albums and tour the world as Israel Vibration, backed by Roots Radics. Praises is an album filled with songs and harmonies which are captivating and lyrics that are filled with spirituality, thier music is solid roots. Upon hearing this band for the first time one instantly recognises that Israel Vibration has something special. Praises is filled with top roots music from start to finish.
