Nasio Fontaine

At eight years old, Fontaine began singing in the Bagatelle school and the Catholic church. Nasio had a habit of making instruments out of anything he could find, his first instrument was a piece of board with fishing lines for strings. his musical inspiration comes from Rastafari teachings and reggae greats such as Joseph Hill and Burning Spear. His greatest influence unmistakeably comes from Bob Marley, his voice, and the classic roots reggae style of Marley are remarkably similar, which has drawn some criticism for sounding too alike. What one can say about Nasio is that he makes superb music in the style of Bob Marley, which will please some people by providing new sounds in a style that we greatly miss.
