They are still recording and performing live. Wailing Souls have recorded with numerous top Jamaican record producers including Coxsone Dodd of Studio One, Lloyd "King Jammy" James, Henry "Junjo" Lawes, Delroy Wilson and Freddie McGregor, as well as some early recordings with Bob Marley. The group is best known for two classic songs, War and Bredda Gravalicious. The album Fire House Rock and its title track was one of their 1980s hits. The group has seen many changes but the two artists that have always been in the lineup are Winston "Pipe" Matthews and Lloyd "Bread" McDonald. They have worked with Sly and Robbie, the Roots Radics,and many other top musicians.The Wailing Souls are one of the roots reggae originators and thier album Firehouse Rock is a classic that deserves a place in any music collection.
